The Administration of the police department supports the overall staffing, budget and function of police services in Roseville. The police chief, two deputy chiefs and a secretary staff it.
Detective Bureau

The main responsibiltiy of the Detective Bureau is to do the follow up investigation, request of warrants, and court preparation on all misdemeanor and felony crimes that are reported in the
City of Roseville. Detectives also investigate missing persons, some ordinance violations, and other situations that could affect the safety and welfare of the community.

Attention All Residents:
Parking between the sidewalk and the curb is prohibited by both City Ordinance and the State Motor Vehicle Code for public safety concerns.
Winter Parking Ordinance
The Traffic Bureau is assigned the task of both traffic and motor carrier enforcement and crash investigation. Officers are assigned traffic details dependant on the needs of the city and operate from patrol and motorcycle vehicles. The traffic bureau investigates all serious and fatal crashes and presents those cases to the city attorney or the county prosecutor for review. Persons with concerns about speeding cars, abandoned vehicles, overweight trucks, traffic patterns, or parking should contact the Traffic Bureau.
Patrol Commander

A patrol commander is available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The patrol commander works one of three shifts: 12:00 am to 8:00 am, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, and 4:00 pm to 12:00 am. The patrol commander is in charge with the delivery of police services on a given shift, and the police lockup. Persons should contact a commander if they have issues involving a particular incident, police services, or citizen complaints. Complaints involving the police department will be taken anytime a problem arises. Uniformed officers are assigned to the three shifts to respond to calls for service and preventative patrol.
School Liaison

School Liaison officers are assigned to the Roseville High School, Roseville Junior High School, Eastland Junior High School and Guest Community Schools. These officers are a part of the student body at these schools throughout the school year and they handle incidents at those locations. Persons with question or concerns about school incidents, or student safety should contact the liaison officer through our police dispatch at (586) 775-2100 or through the school office.
Records Bureau

The Records Bureau compiles and prepares reports and statistics for use by citizens and the police department. Some of the services provided by the Records Bureau include dog licenses, bicycle licenses, gun permits and gun registrations, records checks, and sales of police and accident reports. The Records Bureau holds property auctions yearly and publishes the items in the paper and on the city website. Persons having questions should call for more information.
Animal Control
Dog Licenses: Required for any dog 4 months of age or older. The license expires when the rabies vaccine expires.

Incident Reports: Incident reports can be purchased at the Records Bureau counter. Only the persons named in the report are allowed to purchase a copy. An incident report that is under investigation is not obtainable until the investigation is complete.
