Statement of Services: The Treasurer’s Office is responsible for the receipt, deposit and disbursement of all revenue coming into the City including real and personal property tax.
Property tax bills are prepared and mailed by this office on a bi-annual basis in July and December. Summer tax bills are due August 31st. A penalty begins September 1st at the rate of 1% per month. Winter taxes are due February 28th. All unpaid taxes are forwarded to the Macomb County Treasurer on March 1st of each year.

The Treasurer’s Office will assist qualifying senior citizens with their summer tax deferment forms. The guidelines for this is age 62 and household income less than $40,000. The State allows the deferral of the summer due date to extend to February 28th without penalties. When the summer tax bill is received, you must come into the Treasurer’s Office and file a deferment at that time. All deferments must be filed by September 15th.
The Treasurer also assists all eligible Roseville senior citizens both homeowners and renters with their homestead property tax refunds and home heating credits on the State Income Tax. These services are free of charge to all eligible senior citizens. To be eligible either you or your spouse must be 65 years of age or older. When you receive your State of Michigan Income Tax forms (in January) you may schedule an appointment by calling the Treasurer’s office. Do not call for an appointment until you have received your information from the State of Michigan. Assistance will be available from January through the first of March each year.
